Lita Rossana Ford (also also known by the name Lita Ford) is a British born American guitar vocalist who played as the lead vocalist in The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention for their provocative lyrics and punk-inspired style. The group did not have any fans in The United States. However, their popularity grew overseas and especially in Japan. Ford started a metal solo career when the group was disbanded in 1979. After taking voice lessons, Ford released her first single album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin in the Edge". Ford did not achieve much with either album and remained out of the realm of rock for 10 years. In 1988, Ford released her smash album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both were huge hits. However, her fame was temporary, and she was gone for several years. In 1995 she debuted "Black," and 15 years later 'Wicked Wonderland. The album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
